We’ll be streaming live at http://comicsaregreat.tv at 12:30 ET!Today at 12:30 ET I’ll be talking with Kim holm and Jono Balliett on the Comics Are Great! web show, and you can participate during the live broadcast!
Topics:
1) Use cases for “compressed” storytelling and “decompressed” storytelling, and what do those terms even mean?
2) How public improv and non-trivial time restraints can force you to plow through ideas and shape them into serviceable stories.
And knowing my history with Kim, there will likely be plenty of “give Jerzy a hard time” on the show.
Want to chime in on these topics, or have a question for Kim or Jono? You can participate via live chat as the show is recorded by going to http://comicsaregreat.tv. We’ll be setting up a little before 12:30 pm ET.

This was easily one of my most challenging classes. A group of high-energy boys. But with this final assignment I managed to get them to work as a group and create a unique and fun comics narrative. They were racing against the clock, but didn’t want the project to end.A lot of fun. Gonna get a chimichanga now.

Tensions run high as the students’ stories converge on the giant jam comic.

Super fun to listen to them collaborate more and more as their stories converge.
Rob and I spend a good hour talking about the perils of comparing our work/careers to those of others.
No video for this one, but we make up for it with the content in the conversation.
